The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian Military Cadet Corps wing of the Indian Armed Forces regulated under the Ministry of Defense, which recruits cadets from schools and colleges all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. This training also inculcates the feeling of comradeship, courage, honesty and above all the patriotism. Whereas, the Motto of the NCC is “Unity and Discipline” (Ekta aur Anushasan).

 

A unit of National Cadet Corps (NCC) army wing was started in this college in the year 2015 to instill national spirit and discipline among undergraduate students (Boys and Girls) under the supervision of 55 Bengal Bn NCC, Tamluk. The present cadet strength is 160. The cadets have participated in several camps (CATC, NIC, TSC, AAC, RDC etc.) and actively involved in several extension activities like Independence Day and Republic Day Celebration, NCC day celebration, celebration of World Environment Day, Rally and Sensitization program on Cashless Transaction, several campaigns like Health and Hygiene, Industrial Pollution, Aids Awareness Campaign. This year the unit has organized a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) and NCC ‘C’ Certificate Examination. NCC activities of the college are supervised by Dr. Mohan Chandra Dolai, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology.

Aims of NCC

    • To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
    • To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service of the nation.
    • To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

Recent Achievements:

    • Out of total 33 cadets appeared in NCC ‘B’ Certificate Examination- 2017, 12 Cadets have excelled with ‘Alpha’ grade and remaining 21 Cadets excelled with ‘B’ grade.
    • SUO Sampa Barik participated in Republic Day Parade 2017 held at New Delhi.
    • Cdt. Srabani Jana participated in Republic Day Parade 2017 held at Red Road, Kolkata.
    • Cdt. Sk. Samsuddin Ahamed, Cdt. Raja Panjiyar and Cdt. Arup Mondal won the Gold Medal in Map Reading Competition in THAL SAINIK CAMP- IBC held at Mahishadal Girl’s College from 17.07.2017 to 26.07.2017.
    • Cdt. Sk. Samsuddin Ahamed, Cdt. Raja Panjiyar and Cdt. Arup Mondal won the Silver Medal in Judging Distance and Field Signals Competition in THAL SAINIK CAMP- IBC held at Mahishadal Girl’s College from 17.07.2017 to 26.07.2017.
    • Cdt. Saswati Maity and Cdt. Susmita Maity won the Silver Medal in Map Reading Competition in THAL SAINIK CAMP- IBC held at Mahishadal Girl’s College from 17.07.2017 to 26.07.2017.
    • Cdt. Saswati Maity and Cdt. Susmita Maity won the Silver Medal in Health and Hygiene Competition in THAL SAINIK CAMP- IBC held at Mahishadal Girl’s College from 17.07.2017 to 26.07.2017.
    • Cdt. Sk. Samsuddin Ahamed, Cdt. Raja Panjiyar and Cdt. Arup Mondal won the Gold Medal in Map Reading Competition in THAL SAINIK CAMP- IGC held at Ramnagar Raw High School, Purba Medinipur from 02.08.2017 to 11.08.2017.
    • Cdt. Sk. Samsuddin Ahamed and Cdt. Raja Panjiyar won the Gold Medal in Judging Distance and Field Signals Competition in THAL SAINIK CAMP- IGC held at Ramnagar Raw High School, Purba Medinipur from 02.08.2017 to 11.08.2017.
    • Cdt. Sandip Nayak holds first position in Yoga Competition in CATC (RDC)- VIII held at Bishnupur Ramanand College, Bankura from 12.08.2017 to 21.08.2017.
    • Cdt. Ankita Raj Dandapat won the Gold Medal in Individual Song Competition in CATC (RDC)- VIII held at Bishnupur Ramanand College, Bankura from 12.08.2017 to 21.08.2017.
